Nominal Ledger Activity

Every time you record a transaction into Sage Line 50, the activity is stored in the audit trail. This single list stores every transaction you have made, in the order that it was recorded into Sage Line 50. Because Sage Line 50 lets you assign your transactions to nominal accounts, you can see the transaction activity of a single nominal account at any time. The Activity option shows the individual transactions posted to each account and the nominal record shows the actual balance value (debits minus credits).

Use the Activity option on the Nominal Ledger window to view the individual transactions you have æpostedÆ to your nominal accounts. Select the nominal accounts you are interested in examining from the Nominal Ledger window list box then choose the Activity option. After you have chosen the range of transactions you require; either by audit trail number (transaction range), transaction type or date, , the Nominal Ledger Activity table appears listing the accountÆs transactions in the order that they were made, with the first transaction you entered at the top. If you define a date range, you will get a brought forward balance on your report if you have transactions that are dated before the start of your date range.

If you are viewing the activities of a Bank Account or reserved control account (i.e. ones that transactions are automatically posted to by Sage Line 50 when you record transactions, for example. Debtors and Creditors Control Accounts, VAT on Sales and Purchases), you can break the transactions on your Activity Report into the individual items by double-clicking on a line of the report.

Note: Only those transactions that have not been cleared from this transaction log will appear. This means that if you clear your audit trail monthly, then the activities displayed here will be this monthÆs transactions.
